We occasionally have full-time and part-time positions available Fledging Crow. Pre-season starts as early as March, regular season is from May-October, and season extension runs until Christmas. Fledging Crow Vegetables, LLC is a 35-acre Certified Organic & community-focused farm nestled between the Adirondack Mountains and Lake Champlain. The farm specializes in diversified organic vegetable production and prides itself on creating a stimulating, creative, and welcoming atmosphere for its diverse crew each season. Apprenticeships are competitive; only two apprentices are accepted each season. Apprentices will be offered on-farm housing and exceptional food throughout the season, as well as a stipend of $600/month for the first season. Pay raise can be expected if the apprentice returns for a second season.

EXPECTATIONS

Apprentices will be expected to work 6-days per week throughout the season. Work begins at 7am each Monday – Saturday, with a significant lunch break from noon to 1:30pm. Work goes until the tasks for the day are completed, often ending by 6pm but occasionally longer days are required.  Apprentices will have Sundays off each week, and have 6 additional days off to use throughout the season. A positive attitude and good work ethic are essential to success. Apprentices are expected to show up with appropriate gear including farm boots (waterproof), durable working pants, a warm hat, a sun hat, sunglasses, a rain jacket, and a headlamp.  Apprentices will have breakfast, coffee, and lunch prepared for them each day using local organic ingredients. Apprentices will be able to prepare their own dinner using ingredients provided by the farm. Fledging Crow maintains a reliable WiFi connection for apprentices to use. There are two farm cars available for apprentices to borrow as needed. A climbing gym, hiking trails, swimming, bike trails, and a farm brewery are all located within 3 miles of the farm for apprentices to enjoy.

COMPENSATION   First-season apprentices at Fledging Crow Vegetables will be offered room and board plus a $600 monthly stipend.
